What you will achieve after completing this program
Graduates get a thorough understanding of both Indian and Western political philosophy, ranging from Ambedkar and Nehru to Plato and Aristotle. This fundamental knowledge enables students to evaluate political ideologies, models of governance, and the historical development of political institutions. They discover how contemporary discussions about democracy, justice, rights, and government are still influenced by political philosophy.
Students gain the capacity to evaluate and contrast political systems worldwide, including both democracies and non-democracies. They are aware of the ways in which governments operate under diverse institutional and constitutional frameworks, participate in elections, and develop and carry out public policies in a variety of settings.
The course provides a targeted investigation of Indian political dynamics, encompassing its federal structure, political parties, administrative systems, and constitutional framework. Students gain a thorough understanding of modern topics like regionalism, caste-based politics, secularism, and electoral reforms, which empowers them to participate actively in India's democratic process.
Graduates get a sophisticated understanding of foreign policy, global institutions, diplomacy, and international politics. Students who study both theoretical viewpoints and contemporary global issues are more equipped to participate in international discussions and work in disciplines like conflict resolution, global governance, and diplomacy.
